Update 5:20 p.m. The San Bernardino Police Department has released the names of a man and two women who survived a crash early Sunday that took the lives of a Banning woman, a San Bernardino man, and the unborn child of another woman who was injured in the rollover.

Kenneth Leroy, 23, of Beaumont, sustained major injuries, San Bernardino police Sgt. Vicki Cervantes said in an update Monday afternoon.

Margarita Castellanos-Abarca, 19, of Beaumont, sustained minor injuries, Cervantes said.

Island Aguilar, 19, of Cathedral City, sustained major injuries, Cervantes said.

The deceased adults were identified by the coroner as Jennifer Blancas, 19, of Banning, and Cesar Andrew Caro, 24, of San Bernardino.

"We are still investigating this collision and have yet to interview some of the involved parties due to their injuries so we are unable to announce who the driver was at this time," Cervantes said in response to a Patch inquiry Dec. 23.

Posted 4 p.m. A single-vehicle crash early Sunday took the lives of a Banning woman, a San Bernardino man, and the unborn child of another woman who was injured in the rollover, according to San Bernardino police and coroner's personnel.

The deceased adults were identified by the coroner as Jennifer Blancas, 19, of Banning, and Cesar Andrew Caro, 24, of San Bernardino.

The crash was reported at 12:59 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 3800 block of Ridge Line Drive, north of the 210 Freeway and near West Kendall Drive, according to police and coroner's accounts.

"This is residential roadway on a hill top," San Bernardino police Sgt. Vicki Cervantes said in a statement.

According to witnesses, a 2003 Nissan Altima was northbound on Ridge Line, from the top down the hill, just prior to the collision, Cervantes said.

"The roadway made a slight turn but the driver continued in a straight course driving up over the west curb and off the embankment where it rolled several times before coming to rest approximately 200 feet down in a ravine," Cervantes said.

Three people in the Altima were ejected, and two of them were pronounced deceased at the scene, Cervantes said.

The third person who was ejected was identified as a 23-year-old man from San Bernardino. He was transported to a local  hospital where he was being treated for multiple fractures to his spine along with other major injuries, Cervantes said.

Another young woman, who was about 19 weeks pregnant, "was airlifted from the collision scene to a local hospital for treatment," Cervantes said. "Unfortunately this woman suffered major injuries, to include the loss of her unborn child."

A third young woman who was in the Altima was transported to a local  hospital for observation but did not appear to have any substantial injuries, Cervantes said.

"Evidence at the scene indicates that most of the occupants in this vehicle were under the  influence of alcohol at the time of the collision," Cervantes said.

All occupants of the Altima had to be hoisted out of the ravine by San Bernardino City fire personnel, Cervantes said.

The crash investigation was continuing and anyone with more info was urged to call San Bernardino PD Traffic Officer E. Thomas at (909) 384-5791.
