Robbery Suspects Plead Not Guilty

Three Los Angeles County men are accused of robbing Leeds & Son Fine Jewelers last Friday.

Three Los Angeles County men were charged today in the robbery of a high-end Palm Desert jewelry store.

Zaque Xavier Sykes, 27, Joshua Marquise Madison, 18, both of Compton, and Brandon Christian King, 20, of Los Angeles, pleaded not guilty to several of robbery, second degree burglary and a count of evading arrest in the July 1 robbery of .

Sykes faces an additional sentence enhancing allegation of a prison prior within the past 10 years. All three were expected to be arraigned this afternoon.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge John M. Davis set bail between $25,000 to $55,000 and ordered the men to return to court on July 15 for a felony settlement conference.

A 16-year-old boy was also taken into custody, but information on him was limited because of his age.

All the jewelry was recovered following a more than 50-mile high speed chase that ended in Moreno Valley, according to a sheriff's official.

The men allegedly used a replica gun during the robbery, during which no one was hurt.
