Sheriff’s deputies staffing a checkpoint in Palm Desert arrested one motorist suspected of DUI; another 14 drivers were taken into custody for alleged driver license violations.
The checkpoint was staffed Friday from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday on Hwy. 111 -- east of Desert Crossings -- according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt Dave Adams.
Deputies seized six vehicles as well.
Funding for the operation came from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
