Deputies Check on Sex Offenders in Bermuda Dunes, Coachella and Thermal

Deputies did parole compliance checks Sunday on 11 registered sex offenders in Bermuda Dunes, Coachella and Thermal, according to the Sheriff's Department.

"During the checks, 8 of the 11 registered sex offenders were contacted, and their residences was searched for contraband," Sgt. Mike Tapp of the sheriff's Thermal Station said in a statement Nov. 25. "All 8 registered sex offenders were in compliance with the law and registration requirements."

The Investigations Bureau at Thermal Station monitors sex offenders to ensure they are in compliance with the law and registration requirements, Tapp said.

"The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is committed to ensuring these offenders are in compliance," Tapp said. "To accomplish this mission, the Sheriff's Department works closely with the communities we serve and community input is vital."

Tapp urged residents to report suspicious activity to Sheriff's Dispatch at (760) 836-3215. Anyone with questions about sex offender compliance checks can call Investigator Willow at the Investigations Bureau at (760) 863-8461.
