Deputies Looking for Robber in Rite Aid Heist

Sheriff's investigators are also looking for connections to a robbery early Tuesday in Palm Desert.

Riveradie COunty Sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help in finding a man who robbed a Rite Aid in Palm Desert.

The robbery was reported about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Rite Aid at
39155 Washington St. Deputies were told that a man entered the store
brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the clerk. No one was hurt,
Riverside County Sheriff's Department Deputy Angel Ramos said.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen
getting into a black Lincoln LS sedan, which headed south on Washington, Ramos said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with short hair. His face
was covered by a bandana and he was wearing a dark-colored shirt. A description of the getaway driver was unavailable. According to Ramos, surveillance videos have been reviewed, and a height and weight of the robber has not yet been determined.

Ramos said that they are investigating a possible connection to the robbery of a Circle K in Palm Desert earlier that morning, as the robber had a similar description.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call the
sheriff's department at (760) 836-1600 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at
(760) 341-7867. Tips can be anonymous and may lead to a cash reward.
