Sheriff’s deputies staffing a DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert arrested a motorist allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs and another motorist for an alleged drug violation, a sergeant reported.
The checkpoint was staffed on Fred Waring Drive, west of Deep Canyon Road, Friday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Dave Adams.
Deputies also collared two others on active arrest warrants and another eight for license violations, Adams wrote in a news release.
Deputies impounded five vehicles – out of the 571 that passed through and were checked, Adams stated.
