Deputies Seek Info on Suspicious Death of Man in Thousand Palms

Deputies were seeking info from the public about the death of a man found unresponsive Wednesday morning in Thousand Palms.

Personnel from Palm Desert responded at 8 a.m. Dec. 11 to a report of an unresponsive man in his 40s on the ground at an apartment complex in the 72000 block of El Centro Way, sheriff's Sgt. Tom Brewster said in a statement.

"Deputies and medical personnel arrived simultaneously and determined the male was deceased," Brewster said.

Investigators from the Palm Desert Station responded and assumed the investigation with assistance from the Coroner's Office, Brewster said.

"The investigation is ongoing and we are reaching out to the public and asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Investigator Steve Buenting by calling the Palm Desert Station at 760-836-1600 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP," Brewster said.

Tips can remain anonymous and may lead to a cash reward, according to the Sheriff's Department.
