A Thermal housekeeper was arrested for allegedly stealing her employer's ATM cards and using them to make purchases at numerous locations, a sheriff's sergeant said Wednesday.

A theft was reported on April 18 at a residence in the 100 block of Chalaka Place in Palm Desert, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Larry Sherman.

"After the theft, the victim's ATM cards were used at numerous locations throughout the Coachella Valley. Deputies conducted follow-up investigation and determined the housekeeper employed by the victim was the suspect," Sherman said.

Ana Luisa Corona, 40, was booked Tuesday at the county jail in Indio on suspicion of burglary, identity theft and credit card fraud. She posted a $35,000 bond and is expected in court in August, according to jail records.
