Domestic Violence Suspect Behind Bars

Daniel Brockman of Palm Desert allegedly forced his way into a woman's home with a gun.

A man accused of violating a domestic violence restraining order when he forced his way into a woman's Palm Desert home while armed with a gun was behind bars today.

Daniel Brockman, 43, was being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of live ammunition and violating a domestic violence order, according to jail records.

Brockman was taken into custody Thursday following a brief struggle and the help of a police dog after deputies entered the home at 73936 Rancho Road, according to Sgt. Darin Oliver of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

He allegedly entered the home about 4 p.m., Oliver said.

Charges were expected to be filed Monday.
