DUI Checkpoint Planned for Saturday
Palm Desert Police aim to keep drivers sober this weekend
Palm Desert police will hold a DUI and driver's license checkpoint Saturday in Palm Desert.
The checkpoint is set for July 21 from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, according to Sgt. Dave Adams of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, which contracts with Palm Desert for its policing services.
The location was not released.

The checkpoint is aimed to reduce the number of people killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes, Adams said.
The public is encouraged to help keep our roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.

Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
