Riverside County sheriff's deputies will be screening drivers at a drunken driving and license checkpoint in La Quinta Friday.
Deputies will set up the checkpoint in an undisclosed spot about 7 p.m. and work until about 3 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's Cpl. Don Olson said.
Funding for the operation comes from federal and state grants.
