DUI Suspect Arrested After Home Search
Man crashes into light pole, then enters nearby house.
A man allegedly driving while under the influence knocked down a light pole with his car Tuesday afternoon in Palm Desert, then went into a nearby home, where he was eventually taken into custody, a sheriff's sergeant said.
Dennis Earl Houser, 47, of Palm Desert, lost control of his sedan while
turning onto Carlotta Drive from Hovley Lane East, and the car struck and
knocked down a light pole, sheriff's Sgt. Dan Devinny said.
Witnesses then saw Houser enter a nearby house in the 75000 block of
Easy Street, where he was taken into custody about 12:30 p.m., the sergeant
said.
