Sheriff's deputies on Sunday morning arrested a 49-year-old Las Vegas man after he allegedly crossed lanes of traffic and struck a street sign and curb, flattening two tires, officials said.
Brian Francis Devlin was cited and released on $2,500 bail, on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, pending a March 13 court date.
Deputies went to Miles Avenue, near Dune Palms, in La Quinta, about 2:15 a.m. Sunday to investigate a crash, a sheriff's official said.
The vehicle had crossed lanes of eastbound traffic on Miles, struck a street sign and a curb, flattening tires and coming to a stop, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Randy Vasquez wrote in a news release.
No one was injured in the crash, the sergeant reported.
Motorists who see drunken drivers should call 9-1-1 to report it.
