DUI Suspect's Vehicle Overturns in Palm Desert

A motorist suspected of DUI when his truck overturned in Palm Desert was out on $2,500 bail Sunday, pending a court appearance, officials said.

The crash on Cook Street, near Frank Sinatra Drive, was reported about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Radek Horkel.

The Ford truck was heading north on Cook when the truck overturned, Horkel wrote in a news release.

Brent Michael Rausch, 25, of Cathedral City, suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, then jail, when deputies determined he was high on drugs and alcohol, Horkel reported.

The suspect was ordered to court June 5.
