60-Year-Old Driver Arrested for DUI in Palm Desert Crash

Police say the 60-year-old woman is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and slamming into another car.

A 60-year-old Cathedral City woman was arrested on suspicioun of driving drunk following a Thursday night crash in Palm Desert, sheriff's officials report. 

Sergeant Patrick Carroll says Dolores Ramirez was driving a Jeep Cherokee on Highway 111 near the Westfield Mall at around 6:30 p.m. when the crash happened.

"The investigation determined a Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound on Hwy 111 approaching Town Center," Carroll said.  "The driver of the Jeep Cherokee failed to stop in time for the signaled red light, striking a stopped Honda Crossover."

No other cars were hit in the intersection.

"No injuries were sustained and it is believed that alcohol consumption was a factor in this collision," the sergeant said.
