Executive Editor of The Desert Sun Arrested on Suspicion of DUI in Palm Desert

The executive editor of The Desert Sun was arrested Monday night on suspicion of DUI in Palm Desert, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Greg Burton, 50, was taken into custody by Palm Desert police at 9:24 p.m. Sept. 9 at Fred Waring Drive and Adonis Drive, booking records show.

Burton was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence, booked at Indio Jail, cited and released early Tuesday on $2,500 bail.

Given an opportunity to comment for this report, Burton did not respond.

He has a court date Nov. 13 at Indio Larson Justice Center.

Burton has been at The Desert Sun since 2011.

Palm Desert contracts for its police services with the Sheriff's Department.
