Fire Damages Home in Aguanga

Fire damaged a home Tuesday in Aguanga on the south side of the San Jacinto Mountains, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported at 8:51 a.m. Sept. 17 near Chris Allen Way and Happy Valley Road, off SR 371 and north of SR 79, Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

"The first arriving engine company reported a single story, single family dwelling fully involved with fire," Hendrickson said.


Six engine companies with more than 20 firefighters responded, Hendrickson said.

"The fire was contained at approximately 9:33 a.m.," Hendrickson said. "Firefighters will be committed to the scene for two-three hours for salvage and overhaul."

Crews had a breathing support unit during the fire fight. Southern California Edison and the Southern California Gas Company also responded.

No injuries were reported. Information about the cause of the fire was not released.
