The fire was reported at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 2 in the 82700 block of Oleander Avenue, a residential neighborhood south of Interstate 10 and west of Jackson Street.

"The first arriving engine company reported heavy smoke visible from a single story, single family home," Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

Six engine companies responded and the fire was declared contained at 8:21 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Property loss was estimated at $150,000 and property saved was estimated at $50,000, Hagemann said. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical.

The American Red Cross responded to assist displaced residents, Hagemann said.
