Five people have been arrested in connection with residential burglaries reported in Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert, a sheriff's spokesman said Monday.

Specific locations of the burglaries were not disclosed. A Sheriff's Department account includes the following:

Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression personnel investigated the burglaries, which occurred during night and early morning hours.

"During the investigation it was revealed that Gabriela Vidal, 28 years old and resident of Cathedral City, used a credit card to pre-order an automotive part from a local auto parts store," sheriff's Cpl. Angel Ramos said. "The credit card in question had been reported stolen from one of the burglaries."

Vidal returned to the auto parts store on Friday Nov. 16 to pick up the item she ordered, Ramos said. Palm Desert Station personnel were waiting for Vidal and arrested her.

"Also arrested at the location and with Vidal were Ruben Corona, 25 years and Eliazar Quintero, 30 years old, both residents of Cathedral City," Ramos said. "Corona was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and Quintero was arrested for two felony warrants."

On Monday Nov. 19 investigators went to the 32200 block of Sky Blue Water Trail in Cathedral City, Ramos said. During a probation search of the property, they allegedly found a loaded firearm, illicit drugs and stolen property.

"Arrested at the location were Miguel Angel Romo, 30 years old and Anita Maria Martinez, 37 years old. Both Romo and Martinez reside at the residence searched," Ramos said.

All suspects were booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio, Ramos said.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
