Five people were injured Monday in a four-vehicle crash that left traffic snarled for miles on westbound Interstate 10 in the Palm Desert area.
The crash was reported about 7:55 a.m. on westbound I-10 west of Washington Street. Five people were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, California Highway Patrol Officer Stephanie Hamilton said.
Three lanes were closed until about 9 a.m.
