Two Cars Crash, Careen off Highway 74

Two vehicles go off road along Highway 74, south of Palm Desert - one driver ends up in hospital.

A Palm Desert man escaped injury when two vehicles plunged into a ravine south of Palm Desert. The other driver, a La Quinta man, was taken to a nearby hospital.

The wreck was reported about 9:40 a.m. on State Route 74, about 3 miles west of Mesquite Hill, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

61-year-old Joseph Digiacinto Jr. of Palm Desert lost control of his 2002 Lincoln Navigator while passing a Volkswagon Golf driving by Tad Oskey, 44, from La Quinta.

Accoriding to Officer Joe Zagorski fo the CHP, Digiacinto's car struck the near the driver's door on the smaller car, and both vehicles overturned as they went off the road and approximately 50 to 70 feet down the mountain side.  

Officer Zagorski noted that there is a bend in the road where the two vehicles collided and went over.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, one person suffered
minor injuries, another recieved moderate injuries in the crash, but neither had to be extricated.

The CHP says Oskey was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with abrasions to his left side, arm and shoulder, with complaints of pain to his neck.

The same statement says Digiaconto was evaluated at the scene with no injuries clamed.

Officer Zagorski noted, that there is a bend in the road where the two vehicles collided and went over.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
