Four People Displaced in Bermuda Dunes House Fire

Four people were displaced Tuesday after their Bermuda Dunes home caught fire, officials say.

The blaze was reported at a single story house in the 78-100 block of Calico Glen Drive at 1:14 p.m., according to Mark Annas with the Riverside County Fire Department.

Though the 22 firefighters on scene were able to contain the fire by 1:43 p.m. to just one room, the American Red Cross was assisting the two males and two females with housing.

An estimated $100,000 in property was lost, while an estimated $400,000 worth was saved, according to Annas.

Crews were scheduled to remain on scene for two hours following the fire for mop-up, he said.
