Four Rescued From Bump and Grind

"A rescue unit located the two women and two children at 10:01 p.m. (Saturday) and they appeared to be in excellent condition,'' a sheriff's dispatcher said.

Four people, including children ages 7 and 8, got lost at nightfall on the Bump and Grind Trail above Palm Desert Satuday night but were safe at home today.

"A rescue unit located the two women and two children at 10:01 p.m. (Saturday) night, and they appeared to be in excellent condition,'' a sheriff's dispatcher said.

They were escorted to the valley floor. None of the four required hospitalization, she said. The hikers had wandered from the trail and became lost, and one of the women's husbands called the sheriff's department about 5:30 p.m. Saturday to report they were missing, she said.
