A man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of DUI in connection with a golf cart incident in La Quinta, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to the La Quinta Resort/PGA West Club House at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 for a reported single vehicle traffic collision involving a golf cart, sheriff's Sgt. Jessica Vanderhoof said in a statement.

"The investigation revealed that an intoxicated passenger on the golf cart fell out while the golf cart was in motion," Vanderhoof said. "The passenger was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the golf cart was intoxicated as well."

Jeffery Rose, 35, of La Quinta, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked at the Indio Jail, Vanderhoof said.

Anyone with more info was urged to call the La Quinta Police Department at (760) 863-8990 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP (7867).
