Hate Crime Under Investigation At Joslyn Center

Investigators discovered that someone dug two Swastikas into the grass along the east perimeter of the parking lot.

Two Swastikas carved into the grass at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert were being investigated today as a hate crime.

The incident was reported at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert, according to Sgt. Robert Brooker of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, which contracts with Palm Desert for its policing services.

Responding deputies discovered that someone dug two Swastikas into the grass along the east perimeter of the parking lot, Brooker said.

The Swastikas were being investigated as a hate crime, he said.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the Joslyn Senor Center at any time over the past several days were asked to call the Palm Desert Station at (760) 836-1600 reference case# T11 319 0053, or Valley Crime Stoppers 760-341-STOP.
