Vacant House Fire Quickly Contained

Firefighters reacted quickly to a house fire in Palm Desert.

Riverside County fire crews quickly contained a fire at an unoccupied Palm Desert home Sunday.

Heavy smoke was reported at 71625 Cholla Way at 1:38 p.m. Sunday, and firefighters contained it by 2:08 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

More than 20 firefighters responded to the call.

The flames were contained to the attic, where they started, but the cause remained under investigation, the department reported.
