How to Help Slain Riverside Officer Mike Crain's Family

The Riverside Police Officers' Association has set up a fund that will help the family of Officer Mike Crain, who was gunned down in the line of duty on Feb. 7, 2013.

The Riverside Police Department has set up a fund through its police officers' association that will benefit the family of fallen officer Mike Crain.

Crain, who lived in Beaumont, was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 7.  Murder charges have been filed against rogue former LAPD cop Christopher Dorner, who has become the target of a massive manhunt in California after his suspected involvement not only in this crime, but in the shootings of an Irvine couple on Super Bowl Sunday.

Crain will be laid to rest Wednesday, and thousands of law enforcement personnel from across the Southland- and beyond- are expected to be in attendance.

"The men and women of the Riverside Police Department would like to thank the community for their support during this difficult time," RPD Lieutenant Guy Toussaint said.

Toussaint said the Riverside Police Officers' Association has set up a fund that will help Crain's wife Regina, 10-year-old son Ian and 4-year-old daughter Kaitlyn.

"Such donations will be provided to the family through the Riverside Police Officers Association in order to assist the family with the many financial needs they will undoubtedly face," Toussaint added.

The fund, which has already received numerous donations according to the Association, will take checks sent to the following:

Riverside Police Officers Association Assistance Fund or RPOA
1965 Chicago Ave, Suite B
Riverside, California 92507

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
