Human Skull Found Under Coachella Valley Home

Sheriff's officials say homicide investigators are looking into the case.

Sheriff's investigators are examining a human skull Tuesday that was found this week under a home near Desert Hot Springs.

Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Buompensiero says the skull was found Monday morning, by two men who were "working at the location" in the 18-500 block of Roberts Road.

"Upon arrival deputies located a human skull that was located under a residence," the sergeant said.  " The identity of the remains is unknown at this time."

An examination of the skull was planned for Tuesday, according to Buompensiero.

Palm Desert homicide detectives are investigating the case, he said.
