An injured hiker was hoisted to safety from the "Bump and Grind" trail in Rancho Mirage Wednesday.
Firefighters responded at 11:15 a.m. to the popular hiking trail, where the woman was injured about a quarter-mile from the trailhead, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.
At about 12:45 p.m., the woman was airlifted to a hospital with moderate injuries, she said.
