Juvenile Arrested in Overnight Convenience Store Robbery

Teen arrested in 3:00 a.m. robbery of money and alcohol

A teenage female from Palm Desert was arrrested just after 5:00 a.m., accused of robbing a convenience store at knifepoint earlier this morning.

The 14-year-old girl was identified by a clerk at the Circle K on San Pablo Avenue as the robber from the 3:00 a.m. theft.

The girl allegedly entered the store, and brandished two kitchen knives while demanding cash.  The girl was given a small amount of cash, and also took two bottles of wine as she fled.

Just after 5:00 a.m., police recieved a call reporting a juvenile hiding in bushes near Las Palmas and Royal Palm.  The caller told police that the girl said she was hiding from police.

Palm Desert Police found the teen, who led them to nearby bushes where the two knives and empty wine bottles were found.  The stolen money was in the girl's pocket.

The teen girl was booked at the Juvenile Hall in Indio on charges of armed robbery.
