La Quinta Man Accused of Driving Drunk, Slamming Into Three Cars

A 30-year-old La Quinta man who allegedly drove drunk and struck three cars was released from jail Friday.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department received reports about 6:50 p.m. Thursday about a possibly intoxicated driver who had struck some cars on Highway 111 and in a parking lot on private property north of the highway in La Quinta, sheriff's Deputy Christopher McAnallen said.

Deputies discovered that Lorenzo Renteria Lopez allegedly hit a vehicle on the highway in Indio, then drove to the lot in the 79000 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta, where he allegedly struck two other vehicles. All the other vehicles received minor damage and no one was hurt, McAnallen said.
