Two La Quinta men allegedly linked to burglaries in three Coachella Valley cities have upcoming court dates, a sheriff's sergeant said Monday.
John Schiavone, 29, and Nicholas Simons, 23, were arrested when deputies served two search warrants last Thursday in the 52000 block of Avenida Alvarado in La Quinta. The warrants were related to recent commercial burglaries along the Highway 111 business corridor, sheriff's Sgt. Robert Pickowitz said.
"Numerous pieces of stolen property were recovered from the suspects' residences," according to the sergeant, who alleged the items were connected to burglaries in La Quinta, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.
Schiavone was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine, while Simons was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and violating parole.
Schiavone posted a $5,000 bond on Friday and is expected to be arraigned on Feb. 5.
Simons is being held without bail at the county jail in Indio and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, according to jail records.
