La Quinta Police Open Sub-Station in Town

The police department, staffed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, opened a new station to the public Wednesday.

A new police sub-station is now open in La Quinta, and the public is invited to tour the facility.

The station, located at 78495 Calle Tampico, is at City Hall, according to Sergeant Robert Pickowitz.

"The City of La Quinta is extremely excited about opening this facility, which is located within the La Quinta City Hall, which will provide easy access and better police services for our residents," Pickowitz said.

La Quinta Police Department personnel were providing tours of the new facility on Wednesday, Jan. 23, during a grand opening celebration at 3 p.m.

The sub-station will be staffed from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One would think police stations would belocated where there are the most crimes, therefore, the choice to open a substation in City Hall was the right decision maybe.

On second tought, I wish to retract my previous comment, as it may be construed that those who work at City Hall are not honest, as I have no data to show they are not. I apologize for this error in judgement.
