La Quinta Robbery Suspect Sought

Police are looking for a man who robbed a local dry cleaning business this week.

A man who robbed a La Quinta cleaners was at large Tuesday.

The man entered the Emerald Desert Cleaners, on Washington Street at Highway 111, around 11:20 a.m. Monday and handed a clerk a note demanding money, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Randy Vasquez.

"The suspect had his hand in his pocket indicating that he had a weapon," Vasquez said.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran away in an easterly direction, he said.

"The owner of the business was uninjured and delayed in reporting the incident," the sergeant added.

The robber was Hispanic, around 30, 5 feet 7, 165 pounds, with dark skin and acne scars on his face, wearing a white hoodie and dark jeans, police said.
