Local Car Wash Robbed by Man Wielding Pepper Spray

Police need help tracking down the man who they say sprayed an employee with pepper spray to steal cash from the business.

A local car wash was hit up in an armed robbery Tuesday, in which the assailant used a pepper spray gun to get past an employee and steal cash, a sheriff's official said.

The incident happened at 6:40 a.m. at the Desert Express Car Wash at 43-632 Washington Street in La Quinta, on the edge of Palm Desert, according to Sheriff's Sergeant Steve DaSilva.

"Investigation revealed a male suspect entered the business, sprayed an employee with pepper spray, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash," DaSilva said.
