Sheriff’s deputies in Palm Desert Saturday were searching for an overweight Latino who snatched a purse from a woman and struck her at a restaurant parking lot.
The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. Friday on El Paseo, near Sage Lane, in Palm Desert, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Brewster said in a news release.
A woman had just left a restaurant when the man hit her and took her purse, running east through the lot and getting into the passenger side of a vehicle.
He was about 5 feet 9, has short dark hair and was wearing dark pants and a dark jacket.
The woman was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released, Brewster said.
