Mobile Home Fire Contained to Attic

Smoke and fire were coming from the roof, according to the first responding crews.

A fire broke out in a double-wide mobile home in Palm Desert late Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 73450 Country Club Drive at about 5:30 p.m., according to Capt. J. Snyder of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Two dozen firefighters responded to the blaze at the Sun Crest Mobile Home Park. The first engine crew encountered smoke and fire coming through the roof of the home.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the attic, a fire dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported.
