Murder Suicide Suspected in Cathedral City Deaths

Three were found dead in a home. Police said two were killed by a family member who then committed suicide.

Three people whose bodies were found today in a Cathedral City residence died in a murder-suicide, police said.

"We have three adults (dead). Two of them were killed by another family member who then committed suicide, and it's just tragic that this occurred," Cathedral City police Lt. Chuck Robinson told KESQ News Channel 3 tonight.

He told the ABC affiliate that one family member had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, "and they were in the process of getting their affairs in order, and there was some discussion and some dispute over the finances."

"We hope to have more answers as we continue the investigation," he said.

KESQ reported that the shooter was a man who killed his common-law wife and her daughter, who was visiting from Florida, before shooting himself in the head.

Police were sent to the residence in the 69600 block of Northampton Avenue when a family member called them between 11:30 a.m. and noon. The responding officer found the three bodies in the house and went outside and called for backup, Robinson said.

The names of the dead were not immediately released.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
