Night Fire Damages Home in Desert Hot Springs

Fire in the middle of the night damaged a home in Desert Hot Springs, Cal Fire officials said Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 12:24 a.m. Sept. 9 in the 66100 block of 3rd Street, Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

Three engine companies responded and found fire in the attic of an 1,800-square-foot single family dwelling, Annas said. The fire was declared contained at 12:43 a.m.

No injuries reported and no one was displaced by the fire, Annas said. Information about the cause of the fire was not disclosed. Southern California Edison also responded.
