Palm Desert Deputies Nab Woman Who Allegedly Stole $20K in Coins, Computers, Other Property

The sheriff's department says the woman was arrested Thursday.

A Desert Hot Springs woman is facing felony burglary charges following her arrest by sheriff's deputies Thursday, officials report.

32-year-old Kaleena Scriven was arrested Thursday afternoon, following an investigation by the Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Aaron Eller.

According to Eller, that unit was investigating several residential burglaries that happened in Thousand Palms in March.  The investigation ultimately led detectives to a home in the 66-000 block of Pierson Blvd in the Desert Hot Springs area.

"A search of the premises revealed stolen property to include: silver and gold coins, computers, cell phones and other personal property belonging to known victims," Eller said.

That stolen property was valued at $20,000, according to the sergeant.

Scriven was arrested and booked at the Indio jail on charges of first degree burglary and possession of stolen property, according to jail records.

Jail records indicate that she posted $35,000 bail, and is due in court on June 5.
