Palm Desert Home Damaged in Overnight Fire

One person taken to hospital in fire near PD Country Club

A fire damaged a Palm Desert home early this morning, and the homeowner was taken to a hospital for treatment of breathing problems, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze in the 42600 block of Hastings Street was reported around 2:20
a.m. Firefighters saw flames and smoke coming from the house's garage when
they arrived, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson
said.

The residents got out before firefighters arrived, and the fire was
extinguished about an hour after it was reported. The homeowner, who had
difficulty breathing, was transported to a local hospital, Hendrickson said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.

A special thank you to Pete (The Wonder Dog ) for waking him up , enabling him to get out safely. He would have called 911 if he had fingers instead of paws.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
