Palm Desert Police Blotter For Nov. 21-29

A review of reported crimes from the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies.

Tuesday, Nov. 29

9:17 p.m.: Officers responded to the 77700 block of Michigan Street reference the sound of a female yelling, and the sound of objects hitting the walls inside an apartment. Kristall Gaumann, 19, of Palm Desert was arrested for domestic battery.

7:06 a.m.: Officers responded to the 77500 block of California regarding a follow-up to a previously reported domestic violence incident. Christopher Jaye, 29, of Palm Desert was arrested for domestic violence and a parole violation warrant.

2 p.m.: Officers conducted a pedestrian check on El Paseo and San Pablo and arrested Ules Wayne Varnado, 28, of Indio for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sunday, Nov. 27

3 a.m.: An officer was driving by the Circle K at Portola and El Paseo when he saw two males walk in the store and run back out 15 seconds later carrying handfuls of cigarettes. The detained one of the males as well as two others parked behind the store with their motor running. All three males were juveniles. They were all arrested for burglary and conspiracy and were later released to their parents. The fourth subject was successful in avoiding capture and his identity is unknown at this time.

5:18 p.m.: Officers responded to 34500 Monterey Ave., , reference a theft, and arrested Sharon Canchola, 19, of Cathedral City, and Jesus Ibarra, 18, of Cathedral City, for shoplifting.

Saturday, Nov. 26

3 a.m.: Officers assisted the CHP at the termination point of a pursuit near Sage and El Paseo. The officers eventually located the outstanding suspect hiding near . After a brief foot chase the suspect surrendered to Deputy Allert and his K-9 partner. The suspect was turned over to the CHP, who booked him for the evading charges and a felony warrant.

11:23 a.m.: Officers responded to the 73000 block of Santa Rosa Way regarding a battery. Israel Huerta, 33, kicked the officer and was subsequently arrested for battery and resisting arrest.

Friday, Nov. 25

4 a.m.: Officers arrested Xaviera Jiron, 19, of Palm Desert for commercial burglary at the ’s Dept. Store.

3:35 p.m.: Officers arrested Edward Cortez, 25, of Mecca for shoplifting at JC Penny.

3:35 p.m.: Officers arrested Pedro Castillon, 18, of Indio for shoplifting at . A male juvenile from Thousand Palms was also arrested for shoplifting at the same location.

4:15 p.m.: Officers arrested Melvin Robero, 18, of Cathedral City, for trespassing at the mall.

9:45 p.m.: Officers arrested Rusty Arrowsmith, 25, of Palm Desert during an occupied vehicle check at Mountain View and Warner Trail. Arrowsmith was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a loaded handgun.

Thursday, Nov. 24

6:45 p.m.: Officers arrested David Yoesel, 40, of Palm Desert for an outstanding felony warrant. Yoesel was arrested at the 77000 block of California Drive.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

5:45 p.m.: Officers arrested Michael Dale Lawler, 53, of Palm Desert for being in possession of a controlled substance, at Portola and Hwy 111.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

6:45 p.m.: Officers arrested Robert Duden, 48, of Palm Desert for domestic battery in the 46-000 block of Hwy 74.

Monday, Nov. 21

9:40 a.m.: Officers responded to the 73800 block of Allesandro regarding a suspicious person. Treilan Hunt, 23, of Banning was arrested for a felony vandalism warrant and providing a false identity to a peace officer.

12:22 p.m.: Officers conducted an arrest warrant service in the 72600 block of Theodora, and arrested Yanery Ramirez, 31,of Cathedral City, for a felony fraud warrant.

1:59 p.m.: Officers responded to regarding a battery. COD security guard John Williams, 52, and student William Penprase, age 23, both demanded citizen’s arrests on each other for battery. There were no witnesses to the incident and no injuries.
