Palm Desert Police Report Another DUI Crash in Town

The crash was reported at 8:10 p.m. Thursday at Washington Street and Fred Waring Drive.

A 26-year-old Coachella man was suspected of drunken driving and crashing his truck into another vehicle in Palm Desert, and was released on bail today.

The crash was reported at 8:10 p.m. Thursday at Washington Street and Fred Waring Drive. Deputies found a Mazda truck had rear-ended a Volvo which had stopped at the traffic light in the southbound left turn lane on Washington, sheriff's Sgt. Ken Black said.

Black said the truck's driver, Lucio Almaguer, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. No one was hurt.

Almaguer was arrested and booked into the county jail in Indio. He posted a $2,500 bond today, according to jail records.

Another suspected DUI crash was reported just a day earlier.
