PD Police to Conduct DUI Checkpoint on Friday Night

Checkpoint will focus on impaired and unlicensed drivers.

The Palm Desert Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint on Friday, August 3, from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m, within the city of Palm Desert.

The exact location of the checkpoint will, for obvious reasons, not be announced.

"A DUI checkpoint is a proven effective method for achieving this goal," said Sgt. Dave Adams of the Palm Desert Police.  "By publicizing these enforcement and education efforts, the Palm Desert Police Department believes motorists can be deterred from drinking and driving."

Traffic volume and weather permitting, all vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested.

The public is encouraged to help keep our roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.

Yea, Yea Big Deal. Where this time infront of a Church or somewhere else. What a Joke!! Did you guys order your Food already from John's and coffee from 7-11?? Come on Man!! If you didn't want everyone to get a DUI, you wouldn't allow parking lots infront of a Bar.

Of course because it's easier than dealing with the crime out here.
