Palm Desert Woman Accused of Driving While Impaired on Drugs

A Palm Desert woman was arrested Sunday in connection with a two-vehicle crash in Indian Wells and accused of driving while impaired on drugs, a sheriff's corporal said.

Deputies responded to a reported crash shortly before 4 a.m. Jan. 26 in the area of Highway 111 and Village Court, Cpl. Keith Pierce of the sheriff's Palm Desert Station said in a statement.

"Michele Riley, 59 years old of Palm Desert, was driving eastbound on Hwy 111 and collided with another vehicle at Village Ct. which was also traveling eastbound on Hwy 111," Pierce said. "No one was injured as a result of the accident. Riley was arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired on drugs."

Riley was booked at Indio Jail and released Monday on $2,500 bail, according to inmate records. She has a court in April.
