Palm Desert Woman Suspected of Causing Four Car Crash While DUI

The crash happened this weekend in Indian Wells.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving when she allegedly caused a four-vehicle crash with her sport utility vehicle at an Indian Wells intersection, a sergeant said today.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 6:14 p.m. Saturday to Fred Waring Drive and Cook Street where the suspect, Rosalinda Weems, 49, of Palm Desert, crashed, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Juan Zamora said.

Weems was heading east in a Mazda SUV on Fred Waring Drive where three cars were stopped at a red light in the left hand turn lane at Cook Street. She entered the lane and failed to stop, causing the chain reaction crash, Zamora said.
