PDHS Golfers to Hold Fundraiser at Big Horn

The event is slated for May 15 at the golf club to benefit the Palm Desert High School golf teams.

The Palm Desert High School Boys and Girls Golf teams will hold their annual fundraising golf tournament at the Bighorn Golf Club May 15 with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.

Community members are encouraged to participate in the tournament, donate an item for the silent auction or sponsor a tee.

"The funds raised from this event enable our boys and girls teams to continue the legacy of their ongoing success,” says Stewart.

The golf tournament is the major fundraiser for the school’s outstanding teams. The girls' team has won 14 consecutive DVL championships and four CIF Eastern Regional Championships.

The boys' team has won 17 of the last 21 DVL championships and are three-time Southern California Championship winners.

According to organizers, the Palm Desert High School golf program has sent 44 players to NCAA Division 1 colleges. Several have continued after college to play the LPGA tour.
