POLICE: Alcohol a Likely Factor in Early Morning Crash in La Quinta

A 22-year-old La Quinta man may face a DUI charge following the 4 a.m. crash.

Alcohol may have been a cause for an early morning single-car crash, authorities said today.

The crash was reported about 4 this morning. The driver, 22-year-old Michael Donnelly, of La Quinta, was traveling in the area of Verbena Drive and Dandelion Street in La Quinta when he struck a curb, La Quinta Police officials said.

The collision caused moderate damage to his vehicle, officers said. Charges of DUI will be submitted to the District Attorney's office for their consideration, officers said.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call the Thermal Sheriff's Station at (760) 863-8990, or email any information about the crime to ThermalStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
