POLICE BLOTTER: Assault, Burglary

Wednesday, Dec. 28

10:50 a.m.: Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at San Pablo and Highway 111. The victim did not desire prosecution and will not testify in court. Charges will be filed out of custody for vandalism, brandishing a deadly weapon, battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

6:26 p.m.: Officers responded to the 4000 block of Shadow Mountain regarding an open door. James Edward Ellis, 48, of Palm Desert was arrested for possession of prescription bills without at prescription.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

6:08 p.m.: Burglary Suppression Unit responded to Highway 111 and Dune Palms and arrested Martha Gomez, 24, of Coachella for burglary, conspiracy, credit card fraud, and a probation violation. Gomez was identified as using stolen credit cards taken from a Palm Desert residential burglary occurring on Thanksgiving.

8:52 p.m.: Officers responded to a four car traffic collision at Highway 111 and Fred Waring Dr. One of the drivers, Danavon Horn, 22, of Palm Desert was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. No one was injured as a result of the accident.

Monday, Dec. 26

12:28 p.m.: Officers responded to a commercial burglary in progress at Fresh Out of the Box, 73614 Highway 111. The suspects fled but were apprehended shortly thereafter in the area of San Anselmo and Catalina Way. Roselio Reyna, 23, of Indio and Roman Luna, 21, of Salton Sea will have charges of burglary and conspiracy filed out of custody. A 17 year-old juvenile was released to his parents with burglary charges filed out of custody.

Sunday, Dec. 25

No significant incidents.

Saturday, Dec. 24

5:12 p.m.: Officers arrested Melissa Nickolaus, 36, of Tempe, Ariz. for driving under the influence at Deanza and Portola Avenue.

9:45 p.m.: A major injury traffic collision occurred in the 73200 block of Mesa View Drive, Palm Desert. A vehicle collided head on into a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road on the one way eastbound street. It appeared alcohol is not a factor in this collision.  Initially paramedics stated one of the parties injuries may be life threatening. The last update indicated their condition had stabilized.

Thursday, Dec. 22

2:30 p.m.: Coachella Valley Narcotic Enforcement Team conducted a probation compliance check in the 74-000 block of Candlewood, Palm Desert. Sabrina Montelleno, 42, of Palm Desert was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation.
