Saturday, April 23

10:11 a.m.: Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on Sage and El Paseo and arrested the passenger Heath Janon, 32, of Rancho Mirage for two misdemeanor warrants. One warrant was for domestic violence and the second for DUI.

6:20 p.m.: Officers responded to 72880 Highway 111 () in reference to two men leaving the store after taking several pairs of Levi’s Jeans. Aldo Lopez, 32, of Indio and Victor Vasquez, 33, of La Quinta were arrested for commercial burglary and conspiracy.

Friday, April 22

1:05 a.m.: Officers arrested Ismael Segovia, 29, of Palm Springs for an outstanding domestic battery warrant in front of Napas Tapas.

2:15 a.m.: Officers arrested Crook Arvanites, 53, of Corona for an outstanding battery on a peace officer warrant (out of Santa Barbara) at Highway 111 and state Route 74.

8:43 a.m.: Officers responded to the 73900 block of Larrea reference a domestic disturbance. The victim’s ex-boyfriend entered her residence, battered her and fled. John Fino, 43, of Palm Desert returned at about 1225 hours and was arrested for burglary, domestic battery, and a court order violation

3:30 p.m.: Officers responded to 77777 County Club Drive and arrested Fred Bambusch, 47, of Palm Desert for public intoxication.

Wednesday, April 20

4:32 a.m.: Officers conducted a pedestrian check at Monterey Avenue and Highway 111 and arrested Burl Gehris, 28, of Palm Desert for possession of concealed deadly weapon.

2:35 p.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team arrested Julio Sanchez, 25, of Palm Desert for making threats towards law enforcement and possession of a shopping cart at the Palm Desert

Tuesday, April 19

11:59 a.m.: Officers responded to the 77600 block of California and arrested Celina Torres, 69, for public intoxication.

4:40 p.m.: Officers responded to the 74300 block of Goleta Avenue regarding a wanted person. Rosa Christina Santos, 29, of Palm Desert was arrested for four felony arrest warrants.

4:40 p.m.: The Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team responded and assisted Officer Cordeiro on the wanted person call at 74300 Goleta Ave. Officers arrested Efrain Garcia Rangel, 32 of Palm Desert on two misdemeanor warrants.

Monday, April 18

3:06 p.m.: Officers conducted a pedestrian check and arrested Cynthia Sarellaris, 56, of Palm Desert in front of 46355 Portola Ave. for a felony arrest warrant.

6:48 p.m.: Officers responded to Sears, 72840 Highway 111 and investigated a commercial burglary. Officers also arrested Edward Jose Serrano, 19, of Indio and a juvenile for conspiracy and burglary.

Sunday, April 17

4:58 a.m.: Officers responded to 34500 Monterey Ave., , reference security out with an Hispanic male asking to be deported back to Guatemala. Erick Aguilar, 41, of Thousand Palms was arrested for public intoxication.

6:30 p.m.: Officers responded to , 74883 Velie Way, regarding a disturbance. Jeffrey Urbana, 49, of Rancho Mirage was arrested for making terrorist threats, possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.

Saturday, April 16

3:50 a.m.: Officers arrested Sergio Jimenez, 46, and Adam Lopez Jr., 37, both of Indio for being under the influence and possession of an opium pipe. Jimenez was also arrested for driving with a suspended license. The suspects were arrested at Towne Center and Hahn Street.

3:42 p.m.: Officers responded to 74401 Hovley Lane (Cantera Apts.) in reference to an overdose. Arrested was Cole Szabo, 22, of Palm Springs for possessing heroin, possessing a syringe and being under the influence of heroin.

3:46 p.m.s: Officers responded to the Desert Marriot Spring in reference to a subject being detained by security for possessing cocaine and arrested Phillip Vournazos, 22, of New York for possessing cocaine base.

7:02 p.m.: Officers responded to 43805 Monterey Ave. in reference to an argument. Officers arrested Matthew Davitt, 22, of Palm Desert for domestic battery.

8:24 p.m.: Officers responded to Avenue of the States just west of Washington Avenue in reference to an injury traffic collision; vehicle vs. a pedestrian. The 51-year-old pedestrian suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries and he was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver, Tom Dunbabin, 31, of Hermosa Beach was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated.

Friday, April 15

7:01 p.m.: Officers arrested Adnan Tanovic, 26, of Palm Desert for spousal abuse at the 73000 block of Santa Rosa Way.

7:57 p.m.: Officers arrested Rafael Medrano, 32, of Los Angeles and Juan Marroquin, 46, of Pico Rivera for theft by false pretenses and battery. The incident occurred at the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue. The suspects sold the victim a fake gold bar. When the suspects were confronted by the victim’s husband, suspect Medrano assaulted the victim’s husband.

8:35 p.m.: Officers arrested Darragh Dadgar, 30, of New Jersey for driving under the influence at Highway 111 and Cabrillo Avenue.

Palm Desert DUI Checkpoint results: A total of 845 cars passed through the checkpoint, with 670 cars being screened. Of these, no one was arrested for driving under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, and 16 field sobriety tests were conducted. Three drivers were arrested for driving while unlicensed or suspended, one driver was arrested for an active warrant and two vehicles were impounded.
